The Embassy of Germany opened the Carnival in Brasilia, 2018. On February 8th, Brazilians and members of the foreign community celebrated the arrival of Carnival.
The animated ball was hosted by the Embassy of Germany at Setor de Embaixadas Sul in Brasília. German diplomats and staff members of the Embassy welcomed the guests for a great party. The joy was contagious. Beautiful and creative costumes colored the environment, carefully decorated for the occasion.
Following the tradition of other carnivals, the present public appreciated the traditional German food and danced a lot on the dance floor, where traditional Brazilian carnival songs were played. The Embassy also presented the guests with souvenirs from Germany.
A moment that marked the celebration was the presentation of the percussion band Batala, formed by women, whose strong and cheerful rhythm spread to all the guests.
Among the guests were diplomats, authorities and personalities of the Brazilian society. Many families honored the event by taking their beautifully costumed children.
